PDT RULES – PART III

PDT HOST OBLIGATIONS

Rules and Guidelines

PDT is primarily a non-profit effort that will insure all Darters, regardless of League or other association (or NON-association) with any other Dart Organization an opportunity to participate in Guaranteed Prize Tournaments. PDT’s goal is to provide large dollar amount Main Event Tournaments on a more frequent basis than any other organization has yet been able to do. This will be accomplished by each Player in a PDT Hosted Local Tournament donating $1.00 of the fee to the goal of such Tournaments and by PDT keeping expenses to a minimum. No other organization has been or will be able to provide Players with Tournaments of this grand scale on a frequent basis.

In order for the PDT to realize this goal it will be necessary for Host Operators and Players alike to share their ideas and provide input. PDT would like to see Local Host Operators HOST MAIN EVENT TOURNAMENTS as well. (A great benefit to those Host Operators that join us in our efforts!) There is no requirement for Membership in PDT for Players. Host Operators should register with PDT as “Associate Members”. We hope to set a Membership Fee that will allow us to provide Players and Hosts with benefits (such as a newsletter or magazine or discount prices for Darts and Supplies) in the future. Joining PDT will provide Players and Host Operators with many benefits.

Many business operators have found the addition of the game of Darts beneficial to their enterprise. Dartboards and related accessories are inexpensive low maintenance items that will increase patronage as well as provide another source of entertainment for existing patrons. Hosting Dart Events during week day evenings not only increases clientele for those days but also on the weekend days as well.

Darts is considered a “gentlemanly sport”. Generally, all dart players are good sportsman. They will shake hands and wish each other good luck before a match. At the end of a game they will shake hands and say “good game” or “nice shooting”. It has been our experience that Dart Players are usually friendly and congenial people that make for the best patrons. Players that are “sore losers” or that exhibit bad behavior are often shunned by better players, as are the venues wherein they may be found.

Dart Players usually bring a friendly atmosphere along with them. As a venue provider you may support this by insuring that Players have a professional and safe atmosphere in which to compete. These guidelines and rules attempt to assist your support of an exciting, friendly, competitive and safe environment for your Players and other patrons.

1.) Dartboards, chalkboards, chalk, adequate area, lighting and seating are to be provided by the Host Operator and kept in good condition.

b.) no sudden movements in front of shooters (scorekeepers should remain still).

c.) no one but the scorekeeper or teammate should tell the shooter what has been hit.

d.) no one, except a teammate, should tell the Player what to hit next.
